In this article, I will cover how to upload presentations to Big Blue Button and switch between multiple presentations after they have been uploaded.
Obviously, the first step is to create a BBB session. If your BBB session is open for you to enter, you can join it and add your presentations. It is recommended that you take the time to upload your presentations before your students join your BBB session rather than doing it once your session is already full of students.
Once in the session, click on the blue plus sign at the bottom left of the screen. You should see a selection box that shows up, select "Upload a presentation." You will be brought to the presentation selection screen. On this screen, you can either drag and drop your presentation files onto the "upload" box or manually navigate to them on your computer.
You are free to upload some image file types as well as any PDF or Microsoft Office file. It is important to remember that the file size limit for BBB uploads is 30 MB, so extremely large Office files, PDFs, or images will not upload properly. It is highly recommended that you save all Office files as PDFs and upload those PDFs to BBB, as BBB most compatibility with PDF files. From any Microsoft Office application, this can be done by clicking "File" > "Save as" and selecting .pdf as the file type instead of the default (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx, etc.) file type.
Once you have your PDFs prepared, click and drag all that you wish to upload and drop them onto the "upload" box in BBB. If you have properly selected all the files you wish to display, click the “upload” button in the top right. Depending on the size of your files, this may take a few seconds. Once the upload has finished, you will return to your BBB session with the first file you uploaded is automatically displayed. On any presentation, you can zoom in and out by clicking the plus and minus symbols. You can also advance the slides of multi-page documents using the arrows found just below the presentation.
If you wish to switch between uploaded presentations, simply click the blue plus sign and click the "upload a presentation" button again. Click the circular checkmark box next to the file you wish to be displayed and click "confirm." If you wish to delete a file or files, return to the presentation screen and select a different presentation you do not wish to delete, then click the trashcan icon next to the presentations you do wish to delete.
